PJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel, a global producer of palladium and refined nickel, has commissioned Bystrinsky GOK. It is one of two largest mining and processing plants established in Russia after the 1990th, with the deposit copper, gold and iron reserves estimated at 343 million tons. Exeplant (part of OMEGALLIANCE Group) is in charge of the implementation of the automated dispatch control system for the mining and processing plant.
Bystrinsky GOK is located in Gazimuro-Zavodsky District in Zabaykalsky Krai, 350 km away from Chita. The plant will deal with extraction and beneficiation of gold, iron and copper ores, and also produce copper, gold and magnetite concentrate. The plant construction started in 2013.
Exeplant specialists joined the GOK commissioning in summer 2017, and by the end of October they had already successfully implemented the complete pilot version of the top-level dispatch control system based on the Wonderware software that is currently being tested as part of the plant hot commissioning. ADCS (automated dispatch control system) enables to create a single information environment at the plant, track changes in production on-the-fly and optimize costs.
The plant hot commissioning will last several months, with the transition to full-scale operation scheduled for mid-2018, and the project capacity attained in late 2019.
“We are delighted to participate in such a large-scale project that, undoubtedly, will positively affect the economy of a whole Russian region — Zabaykalsky Krai,” says Yury Kereynik, Exeplant Executive Director. “Bystrinsky GOK complies with the highest global standards, it is a modern plant that extensively uses innovative solutions. The customer gave us a task not only to implement a dispatch system, but to develop a comprehensive MES solution that enables to track quality parameters, KPI, production capacities, material quality and quantity parameters. Exeplant has been working on GOK commissioning as a part of Nornickel team for several months, and we are proud of the achieved results and excited to continue our work.”
