GAZPROM DOBYCHA SHELF YUZHNO-SAKHALINSK IMPROVE SUPERVISORY CONTROL EFFICIENCY
20.10.2014

MES Engineering (Exeplant at present ), one of the OMEGALLIANCE® Group companies, announces the launch of Automated Supervisory Control and Management System (ASCMS) at the level of the Central Supervisory Control Room (CSCR) of the OOO Gazprom Dobycha Shelf Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.

CSCR is located in Moscow and serves for allocation of scheduled work orders and operational control over the Kirinskoye gas condensate field.img7s.jpg

The Kirinskoye gas condensate field (GCF) is located within the Kirinskoye field (Sakhalin III project) on the Sakhalin shelf in the Sea of Okhotsk. Gas reserves are 162.5 billion cubic meters, and condensate reserves are 19.1 million tons. This field is of strategic significance and is included into Gazprom's Eastern Gas Program which is aimed to strengthening the energy security in Russia and the Far East. The most innovative and state-of-art technologies are used in field development. Their aim is to improve efficiency of energy resources extraction and maintain the unique ecosystem of the Sea of Okhotsk.

The ASCMS project is yet another part of the modern development trend in OOO Gazprom Dobycha Shelf Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. When developing ASCMS, MES Engineering (Exeplant at present) specialists used forward-looking approaches and solutions in order to meet high client's expectations. Each member of the MES Engineering team realized their responsibility for the system aimed not only to manage operational monitoring but also to help make timely strategic and managerial decisions at this crucial for the country site. Extensive experience in development of similar systems played its role. Projects were implemented at such Gazprom's sites as Nord Stream Gas Pipeline, Sakhalin–Khabarovsk–Vladivostok Pipeline, and other facilities of the Russian gas transportation system.

The pilot solution consists of an supervisory control and management subsystem and an supervisory decision-making subsystem. The entire system provides tools for operational control over sites and production processes at the Kirinskoye GCF. The designed solution controls operation modes and process equipment state, analyses collected data to optimize operation modes, and monitors and prevents emergency situations. Additionally, the system controls fire and gas contamination alarms. The main purpose of this ASCMS is to provide operational control and correction of scheduled work orders in order to optimize site performance as well as multidimensional analysis of production progress aimed to lower costs.

Following the works completed by MES Engineering (Exeplant at present), customers have acquired a system providing up-to-date, comprehensive and reliable information on processes taking place at the Kirinskoye field. Data collected at the GCF are transferred to the Central Supervisory Control Room in Moscow.

The solution's specialty is notable geographical distribution of the users. The Kirinskoye GCF is managed in real time by users who are more than 7,000 km away from the site. This is possible thanks to ASCMS flexible, branched architecture. Its back end is distributed both functionally and geographically. The servers are located in Moscow and on the Sakhalin Island. They are connected via a dedicated satellite channel. This provides reliable control and management of the Kirinskoye gas condensate field.
